Exhibition by Gonçalo M. Tavares at Teatro Aveirense

Until the 30th November it will be possible to visit the exhibition, “Grandiosos Caminhos Feitos com Pequenos Pés” (“Great Journeys Made with Little Feet”), at the Sala Estúdio of Teatro Aveirense. The show is curated by Gonçalo M. Tavares and is part of the “Bairro Europa” (“European Neighbourhood”) project, developed by the writer for Aveiro’s candidacy for the 2027 European Capital of Culture.

Gonçalo M. Tavares invited the Brazilian artist, Larissa Lewandoski, to participate in the exhibition. After focusing on memory in the first stage, presented in July of this year, the duo now presents a show focused on the future, again centred on Aveiro and its people. This time, a video-installation is presented with children from the municipality of Aveiro, complemented by objects with diverse resonances.

Screens and children, crazy ideas and movements, this exhibition is a kind of time capsule, like those letters buried with prophecies, which are dug up and read only after many years. In this exhibition, everything you witness springs from the heads of Aveiro’s children, great journeys made with little feet.

Admission to the exhibition is free and it can be visited until 30th November, from Monday to Saturday between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
